Chapter 3 "Hatred"
Chapter 3
Hatred
Near Planet Volesmash
Primera Galaxy
“Katuo! We have a problem!” Ketsu says on the loudspeaker.
Katuo groans and mumbles something angrily. He turns over in his bed and places the pillow on his head, trying to ignore the annoying voice. He is trying to sleep, for pete’s sake!
“Katuo!” Siko jumps onto the bed, only irritating Katuo any further. “Ketsu needs you right away!”
“Can’t I just get some sleep?! You can help him!” Katuo snaps. He is about to close his eyes again when Gus jumps on his chest and starts licking his face happily.
“But we are going to crash if we don’t do something soon!” Siko cries.
“What?!” Katuo jumps out of the bed, wearing only his black boxers. “Ketsu better not be joking!”
After he hurriedly gets dressed up in his usual black outfit, the Gods enter the bridge.
“Katuo! We have to land somewhere soon! The fuel is leaking and --” Ketsu is interrupted by the angry Dark God.
“Show me the map.” Katuo demands.
Ketsu quickly turns around to the control panel and presses a few buttons until the map of Primera Galaxy appears on the large monitor. “Now what? Other than Volesmash, there is no other planet nearby!”
“Land on Volesmash, then.”
“What?! But Volesmash is Earth’s enemy!” Ketsu cries.
“The minute we leave Earth, we are no longer with and against any planet in this universe. As the Dark Angel, you’re supposed to treat every single planet equally.”
“Y-yes… you’re right. I’m sorry,” Ketsu mumbles. “Okay, then, we’re landing on Planet Volesmash.”

“Alright, Siko and I are going to a town and buy food and supplies.” Katuo stretches out his arms tiredly after getting off the spaceship.
Siko glances around at the rocky floor. “No plants here? How in the world do the citizens survive like this?”
“Didn’t you listen to Hikyou-sama during one of our sessions?” Katuo walks past Siko, crossing his arms and takes a look at the nearby town thoughtfully. “The citizens of every planet have different body structures. Some may survive on only water. Others may survive on meat. Hell, I heard that there was one race who mate and then eat each other! Like spiders!”
Siko laughs lightheartedly at Katuo’s remarks. He turns to his older cousin. “Well, Ketsu, are you going to fix the spaceship?”
“Yes…” Ketsu looks up and down at the Gods, who are wearing black and white outfits. They will definitely stand out this way. “You may need to reconsider your clothes…”
“It’s ok.” Siko smiles sadly. “We are prepared anyway… We already know that some people wouldn’t approve of us as the new Gods, eh? We can’t run away from who we are… right, Katuo? ...Katuo?!”
Ketsu laughs lightly as Siko yells angrily running and catching up with Katuo who is already on the way to the city.

After twenty minutes of walking, they finally enter the large city. It does not take long for the citizens in glittering silver jumpsuits to spot two strangers.
Katuo and Siko do not overlook the fact that their stares include some hatred.
“But we are not the same Gods who…” Siko mumbles sadly. His sad tone makes Katuo scowl.
They had studied the history of two planets, Fantasy and Volesmash during their high school years because Fantasy is one of Earth’s allies. For the last century, Earth decided to get involved with their problems and had been battling with Volesmash since then. But they also heard the whole story from Hikyou-sama, which made even more sense.
A long time ago, Volesmash was one of the richest planets in the Primera Galaxy while Planet was one of the poorest. Rai-sama and Suro-sama, the third Dark and Light Gods, tried to help Planet Fantasy with their economy as much as possible.
However, Hikyou-sama warned Rai-sama and Suro-sama over and over again that meddling in any planet’s business was never a good idea. They ignored him, but boy, they had no idea how right he was.
Volesmash eventually noticed that their neighboring planet Fantasy was becoming more and more wealthy -- their economy was booming and was already catching up with Volesmash.
Volesmash panicked when their own economy was slowly declining, so they decided to blame Fantasy for stealing their businesses. They sent their troops to destroy not only the businesses but also the people of Fantasy.
As a result, the Fantasians became really furious with the Volesmasians, so they also countered their attacks on them.
That led to many wars between two planets for the next thousands of years. The large amount of wars caused a small but permanent damage to the Fifth Universe.
Rai-sama and Suro-sama could not help but feel so guilty for causing wars between two planets. So, in the end, they committed suicides together.
Since then, Fantasy remained wealthy while Volesmash was desperately trying to catch up with them.
“I got food!” Siko exclaims and places ten bags of food on the ground when he finds Katuo buying a hundred gallons of fuel. He raises an eyebrow at the large amount. “Um, how do you carry them?”
“It’s a good thing that I brought Ketsu’s new invention -- The Ketsu Package,” Katuo puts down the gallons on the floor. He takes out a small black bag, which then sucks all gallons of fuel and bags of food inside instantly.
“Oh, my god… aren’t they Light and Dark Gods?” One of the citizens whispers to another. “Aren’t they the ones who killed our businesses?”
“Don’t they know that we can kick their asses?” Katuo almost growls before he smirks at what he just said. “Actually, that’s not a bad idea…”
“Katuo!” Siko yells angrily. “We can’t hurt defenseless people!”
“Fine, fine. Geez, you can be like Hikyou-sama sometimes!” The Dark God glances at the gathering of citizens. “Well, then… we have to leave as soon as possible before another military police arrives--”
“Not so fast! You’re not leaving until we take you into custody.” One of the military policemen yells into the microphone, standing behind his car’s door for his safety.
“Um, Katuo?” Siko asks nervously.
“What?” Katuo turns to him only to find hundreds of soldiers heading this way. “Oh, for pete’s sake… we didn’t come here to fight.”
“You are the filthy Gods who almost put us out of business!” One of the female Volesmashians shouts.
Siko shivers at so much hatred in their voices when the Volesmashians start yelling at them. What in the world had the third former Gods done to them to make them hate them for so many years?
“Siko!”
The Light God snaps out of his thoughts and glances at Katuo. He nods his head and then takes off his headband fast. Pairs of wings appear on their backs. Immediately, they take off into the light red sky at full speed.

“AHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Ketsu falls all the way down from the dock when Siko and Katuo suddenly stop flying right in front of him.
“Whoops! Sorry!” Siko laughs, scratching the back of his head.
“Eh… that’s okay.” Ketsu chuckles softly, as he cracks his throbbing neck after he hits his head on the ground. But that is not enough to kill the Dark Angel though.
“I’m going to bed.” Siko smiles sadly before he jumps down through the trapdoor into the spaceship.
“So, you brought what I needed?” Ketsu asks after he leaps back onto the dock.
“Yes.” Katuo tosses the Ketsu Package at him. “I’m checking on Siko.”
“Okay,” the Dark Angel says softly. That is why he was so worried about the way the Gods wear. They can attract attention easily.
Katuo gets into the spaceship only to have his face covered by Gus.
“Stupid dragon. Get off my face.” He literally pulls him off his face. Gus whimpers in return, but then chirps happily when Katuo places him on his head.
Back when they were still on Earth, Gus would always find ways to sit on Katuo’s head. It annoyed the hell out of Katuo at first, but eventually he gave up and let him have his way, as long as the dragon did not manage to piss him off.
Suddenly, the entire spaceship starts shaking a little. That means it has already taken off and is flying out of Volesmash.
“Alright! Auto-pilot is on.” Ketsu comes out of the bridge, grinning cheerfully. “We will be flying for at least one month.”
“That means we will be out of Primera Galaxy soon,” Katuo says. “We’re heading for Segundo Galaxy, yes?”
“That’s right.” Ketsu nods. Then, he frowns. “Katuo… I know that Siko isn’t feeling well. I can feel it. What the hell did the Volesmashians do to him?”
Katuo resists the urge to smirk. He is really glad that Siko has an older cousin who cares for him genuinely. Hikyou could not have chosen any better Dark Angel than Ketsu Mitsukai.
“You know…” Ketsu sighs light when he does not get any answer, “Even though he is Light God, he can get hurt easily. Emotionally. I suggest that you go and talk to him. Make him feel better. After all, you’re the only one who lights his heart.”
Katuo feels flattered by the last comment but somehow he says something he cannot help at all, “I light up his heart? Yeah right. I am Dark God. The emotionless God.”
“Emotionless, maybe. But you have much more heart than the original Dark God could ever have.” Ketsu flashes a big grin at him.
“Hn.”

“Siko?” Katuo opens the door to find Siko lying on their bed.
“Hmm…” At least, Siko responds.
Gus whines when Katuo puts him down. He runs to his own little bed right next to the larger bed.
Katuo gets on the bed and takes a good look at Siko. He grabs his lover’s chin gently, making him look at his dark green eyes. He wipes Siko’s tears with his thumb. “Dammit… You don’t have to cry anymore. We are not going back to Volesmash ever again.”
“I-I don’t know why…” Siko bites his bottom lip, trying to stop crying. He looks away from his partner. “I thought… I’m used to insults…”
“That’s because I’m the only one who gives insults.” Katuo runs his hand through Siko’s white hair, “You’re not used to other people. Stop worrying about what they think of us. They are assholes.”
Siko starts chuckling softly. “You called yourself an asshole.”
“Eh?” Katuo blinks as he slowly realizes what he just said. “Wha… Argh! Dammit!”
The new Light God bursts out into loud laughter.
“Shut up and kiss me.” Katuo smirks, pushing Siko back to the bed.
Poor Gus cannot sleep tonight due to loud noises Katuo and Siko are making all night.
