Chapter 16 "President Kejinto"

Chapter 16
President Kejinto

“Katuo!” Siko cries in panic, as Dark God coughs out blood and collapses to the ground. Jikan quickly crawls backward away from Katuo.

Calm down, Siko!

Not listening to Hikyou, Siko rushes toward Katuo - so fast that he is nearly invisible in the eyes of Jikan.

“W-what?” Jikan nearly cries in panic. She is in complete disbelief that two brand new Gods were this powerful in such a short time.

“I’m fine,” Katuo groans painfully and gets on his hands and knees. “Ever since we got the powers of the Gods, we are able to heal faster than usual, remember?”

“But she hurt you so badly!” Siko exclaims in concern. He briefly glares at Jikan. “Why you…! I won’t forgive you!”

Siko!

Within a flash of second, Siko is already standing right in front of Jikan who shrieks at his sudden appearance. A glowing bright orb is floating above his palm. He raises it up into the air, about to strike down Jikan. “That’s for all innocent people who were killed because of you… The stories that my father told me…”

Siko, don’t!!

Siko widens his light green eyes in shock when he realizes that Katuo somehow gets in between him and Jikan, about to take Siko’s light attack.

At the same time, Jikan raises her hand, rapidly creating a new large portal which covers all of them completely, swallowing them all.

YEAR 2116

Katuo slowly opens his dark green eyes only to shut them again due to the brightness of the sun in the blue sky. What the hell just happened? I was hit by Siko --

He sits up quickly, trying to ignore the sudden pain in his head. “Siko!! Where are you?”

“Over here.” Siko is already sitting up with his hand still holding his own head. “Ow! My head hurts!”

“Are you ok?” Katuo asks after getting up and running to the new Light God.

“You… But… I hit you… By accident,” Siko mumbles sadly. “You shouldn’t be asking me if I’m ok when I should be the one to ask you!”

“I’m fine. See?” Katuo lifts up his black shirt only to show dried blood on his chest. “No wounds at all.”

Siko quickly throws himself into Katuo’s arms. “I’m so sorry!”

“It’s ok.” Katuo smiles at him, running his hand through Siko’s soft silver hair. He looks around at the empty field. “Now… Where are we? More importantly… Where is Jikan?”

After a few minutes when Siko calms down, they start scouting the area, which only consists of open fields. There are no trees or flowers in their sights at all.

“Are we even on Earth? Why has Hikyou-sama not talked to us yet?” Katuo mumbles to himself as he scratches the back of his head. “What the hell did Jikan do to us?”

“Katuo!” Siko yells from the top of the hill.

“Coming!” Katuo yells back, running up the hill.

“W-what is this?” Siko stammers. “Where did Jikan take us to?”

Katuo catches up with the Light God on the top of the hill and freezes at the sight. Everything is in the ruins.

Crumbling tall buildings and skyscrapers are lying in the middle of streets, which are pretty much cracked and nearly unusable for vehicles. The clouds of dust float close to the ground and all over the city.

It is as if the whole city was destroyed by some kind of atomic bomb.

So that’s where Jikan sent you, after all.

“Hikyou-sama!” Siko and Katuo exclaim at the same time.

Yes, I’m Hikyou, but I’m not the same Double God you used to know. Seeing as you came from the past…

“Jikan sent us to the future? Hikyou-sama from our time didn’t come with us?” Siko asks.

No. I knew that yo--, er, I mean, the future Dark and Light Gods were up to something when they suddenly announced that they were visiting a “friend” of theirs. They had been keeping this secret from me for over fifty years! I’m so killing them when they come back!

“W-wait a minute,” Katuo raises his hands, as if he is stopping Hikyou from speaking any further. Even though the Double God isn’t physically here at all. “Fifty years? Jikan sent us fifty years in the future?”

The year is 2116. Welcome to the future. Heheheh!

Siko collapses to his hands and knees, but he still has not moved his eyes away from the ruined city. A gentle breeze lightly ruffles his silver hair. “That’s why Jikan… She gave up… Everything she had ever done… she only wanted to recreate this world.”

“Tch!” Katuo frowns in frustration. He takes one more glance at the destroyed city. “It doesn’t look like Washington D.C.”

Congratulations. You’re right - you’re in New York City.

“Who did this?” Katuo asks angrily, clenching his fists tightly. “Who… made Jikan like she is?”

Hikyou does not answer Katuo’s question.

“Oh, man!” Katuo shouts angrily, waving his hands furiously. “What if we can’t find Jikan?! How are we supposed to get back to our time period?”

“Oh my,” Siko chuckles lightly, scratching his face nervously. They had been walking through the ruined streets and been looking for Jikan for the past hour.

It is as if Jikan tossed them into this time period and left them alone.

“I wonder if Jikan is not here anymore?” Siko asks nervously. “If that is the case, how will it affect the future?”

“Fuck,” Katuo sighs lightly. He glances all the way up at one of the few standing buildings. “Didn’t Jikan say something about going to the past to kill us as soon as we were born…?”

“Oh crap!” Siko cries, startling Katuo with his swearing. “What if she successfully killed us in the past?! Is that why we ended up here… in the middle of nowhere?! Maybe we are not even in New York City! What if the voice wasn’t Hikyou-sama’s? What if it was someone else?!”

“Calm down.” Dark God places his hands on Siko’s shoulders. “Get yourself together! Freaking out will not help us find Jikan any sooner.”

Siko takes a few deep breaths and nods his head in agreement.

“Let’s keep looking.” Katuo turns around and glances at hundreds of debris, in various sizes. He is about to start walking just when --

“H-hey!” Siko shouts, stopping him. “Do you… feel something?”

He is right.  Katuo can feel a few presences approaching closer and closer. Apparently, one of the presences is getting closer and closer - way too fast for a normal human.

“Asshole!”

After hearing a familiar angry voice, Katuo receives the hardest punch in the face - the hardest one ever in his life. As in the result, the sudden yet powerful punch sends him flying through one of the empty skyscrapers, annihilating it completely.

“W-what --” Siko freezes when he turns to a lavender-haired woman who is swapping her shoulders with her own bare hands.

“So, you finally came back, after all,” the woman says without even introducing herself. “Why the hell did it take you so long to come back?”

“Y-you… I-I…” Siko stammers. “Wh-who are you?”

“You don’t know who I am?!” The woman quickly leaps higher into the air before letting herself drop toward the road. As soon as she lands her heel on the road, it instantly turns into a large crater resulting in a fast shockwave.

Siko is trying to hold himself while he is bracing his head with his own arms from large flying rocks.

“I am President Kejinto!” The woman jerks a thumb at herself. “Who else do you think I am, jerk?!”

“Kejinto? Are you related to Katuo Kejinto?” Siko asks carefully. It is no wonder where this crazy lady got such temper from. Even Ryu told him a few stories about how Tezuka exploded into anger back then.

“Have you really forgotten? I’m his sister, dumbass!”

“Oh! It’s nice to meet --” Siko freezes when the realization slaps him in the face. He points his forefinger at her as he yells in shock, “What?! You’re his sister?!”

“Madam President!” One of the men in black suits yells, as they are running as fast as they can toward the President.

“What took you so long?” President Kejinto snaps at them as she turns around to them. “What did I hire you for?! Do I really have to take care of everything?”

“Why you…!” Katuo shouts as he lands harshly on the road after using his black wings to fly back. “I’m going to kick your ass!”

“W-wait! That’s your sister! It’s Perra!” Siko quickly jumps in front of Katuo.

“Move,” Katuo says almost dangerously.

“But --”

“She scared the crap out of me… twice.” Katuo raises one of his hands in front of himself, clenching it into a fist. “I seriously thought she killed me for sure.”

“Itching to fight me already?” President Kejinto gives him a small smirk. “You never change, do you? Even after fifty years?”

“Actually, we came from --” Siko is interrupted.

“I don’t care.” Perra cracks her knuckles, as she takes a few more steps. “You’re going to pay for your actions. You did not even bother coming here and helping us out.”

“What are you talking about?” The new Light God asks in confusion.

Ignoring his question, the siblings suddenly rush off, heading for each other. They are about to throw their fists at each other.
