TWO WEEKS LATER

Knapp can clearly feel that he is getting a deadly glare from a certain child before he even meets him in the Heart’s location. He scratches the back of his head while laughing nervously.

Ever since Knapp and Logy get back to their spaceship in Spain, they go to sleep right away, especially after an unexpectedly exhausting battle with Leon.

After they recover, Knapp decides that it is time to get Ryu to join the Dark Team… or rather known as 5-U, which is also a codename for the Dark Team to conceal their real identities. Leon knows that the Universe Warrior is on this planet so it’s best not to reveal who and where they are.

When Knapp finds Ryu’s phone number, he calls him to ask to meet at their grandfather’s grave. Ryu does not believe him at first that Leon Alvarez is actually the bad guy. 

The older brother explains that he tried to visit their mother but he was too late because she was already dead. That was why he had to find Ryu as soon as possible. He also tells him about the legendary Breakers. He believes that their grandfather was one of them.

After he receives a call from Clear saying that Sybil is giving birth to a baby girl, he has to leave but not without handing a smart tablet to Ryu.

Knapp has two days staying with Sybil and helping out with their baby girl before he decides to go to check on Kawaii. Oh right, we still haven’t decided what to name her…

When he reaches the Heart, he is not surprised to see Hikyou there. Double God is just sitting here and giving his energy to an orb of light and darkness. Knapp can barely see the outline of Kawaii.

“He can barely talk anymore,” Hikyou says without looking at Knapp. “He wasted his energy on an idiot like you.”

Knapp frowns. “I know… He saved my life. But even so… if he did, then why did he give up on his own life?”

“You don’t remember much from the battle, do you?” Hikyou gets up and turns to him. He narrows his sharp green eyes. “Of course, you don’t. Kawaii possessed your body at that time. This friend of yours… He stopped Kawaii from revealing his location to the Locker. Otherwise, we’d be gone by now.”

“Logy?” Knapp asks softly.

“And this team of yours,” Hikyou says. “You all have been working so hard. To protect Kawaii. But…”

“We can’t kill the Locker yet,” Knapp finishes for him. “I know that…”

“Either way, we’re stuck here. If at least one Breaker is here, they probably have not discovered their power yet. What can you do now?”

“I… I don’t know,” the Universe Warrior says honestly.

“Universe War -- I mean, Knapp,” Hikyou mumbles. “I can only delay the destruction of the universe long enough. I even delayed Tezuka and Ryu’s deaths, even though I’m aware that it would likely lead to the destruction of Earth. Eventually.”

This is the first time that Double God has ever talked… not like an arrogant god but rather like a normal and humble person he is.

“However,” Hikyou says when the Universe Warrior has not said a word. “I’m going to gamble all of it. The entire universe. The lives of people in this universe. Even my own life.”

“What?” Knapp asks.

“I’m willing to take only one chance… to find out whether Dark and Light Gods will appear or not.”

“You have their souls, don’t you?”

“I do, but… I… I mean, even Kawaii and I know who the next Dark and Light Gods will be. They aren’t born… not yet.”

“What will their names be?” Knapp cannot help but ask. “Is that why you’re keeping Ryu and Tezuka alive?”

“That’s none of your concern,” Kawaii says, his anger obviously directed at Knapp. “You know we could have finished off the Locker.”

The Universe Warrior glances at Hikyou, hoping for him to say something. In return, Double God only gives him zero words.

“You know the reason as well as I do,” Knapp answers after several minutes. “We don’t have someone who can break the chains. A Breaker. Someone who can fight the Locker.”

“There is.”

“Who?”

“Kawaii, he doesn’t even know that he is the Breaker.” Hikyou interrupts their conversation. “Let’s keep this way, okay?”

The sooner we find the Breaker, the better. If they already know who the Breaker is, then why won’t they help us? Knapp rubs his forehead in annoyance. He looks down at his daughter in his arms while he is feeding her with a bottle.

Katja Mitsukai. What a fitting name for you, right? Knapp cannot help but smile widely at his baby girl. Katja tilts her head a little bit. “Hey, why are you looking at me funny like that?”

“Do you need a hand?” Clear asks. She decides to check on Knapp who is caring for his daughter while Sybil is napping.

“No, I’m fine.” Knapp takes an empty bottle out of his sleeping baby girl’s mouth. He yawns tiredly. “Logy helped out earlier today.”

“Alright. That’s not the only reason why I came to see you,” Clear says.

“Update about Japan situation?”

“Yes. Ryu is in his position right now. The S.W.S. team is just minutes away from arriving in Oma, Aomori. A fishing village in Japan. From what Danielle told me, there were supposed to be nuclear weapons in that area. And…” Clear hesitates.

“What is it?” Knapp is not liking the look on Clear’s face at all.

“She is going after Colonel Leon Alvarez. She said if he gets taken out, then the war will be stopped.”

Knapp glances at his sleeping daughter in his arms. Even though Kawaii and Hikyou told him that until they found the Breaker, there was no one else who could break the chains. If the Locker is gone from the world, then they will not stop the destruction of Earth from processing at all unless the chains are broken.

“What do we do?” Clear asks nervously.

“Does Zack know about it?”

“He wasn’t with her when she was telling me…”

“Stop her,” Knapp says urgently. “Call Zack and tell him to find her as soon as possible.”
