Chapter 3 "Logy Oib"
WARNING: There is a MALE X MALE intimacy in this chapter.
Chapter 3
Logy Oib
Sybil and Knapp found an old spaceship all the way out in the country area. It is in the middle of a mini forest close to one of the farms.
After reading instructions from Danielle on his smart tablet carefully with Sybil’s help, Knapp is able to pilot the spaceship and make their way out of Earth. They both cannot help but watch Earth in awe as they are departing. It is the most beautiful thing they had ever seen.
“Hey, Sybil. Come and check this out.” Knapp waves his hand. When she comes to him, he continues. “Danielle made the list of the planets with the most possible number of energies. The world is called Planet Fantasy. If I remember correctly, I need to find someone who is a mind reader first. This one says that reading minds is rare but this planet has more people who can do that compared to other planets.”
“Wow… Danielle is amazing!”
“Yeah… I wouldn’t know where to start at all without her help!” Knapp flashes a big grin on his face.
“You know, I haven’t seen you smile this big in a long time.” Sybil pokes Knapp’s nose. “I was right that you needed to move out a long time ago.”
“Y-Yeah…” Knapp’s smile goes away from his face. “I know… but… Ryu…”
“He will be fine.” Sybil places her hands on her hips. “He is tougher than you think… just like your father, you know?”
Knapp does not say another word as he places his lips on hers, initiating a kiss.

PLANET FANTASY
The spaceship lands in a world full of not only colors but also different shapes. A whole city is full of tall, short, round, even triangle skycaptors, warehouses, family houses, and more. Vehicles are either long, short, wide, or narrow. The citizens look more like Earthlings, except their outfits are completely colorful and bold. One wears a large hat with a large blue feather. Another wears a pair of long heels, which can be measured up to two feet high. One has a full tattooed face.
Because the sun is too far from Planet Fantasy, it’s constantly nighttime. The city is always lit like it never sleeps. It is overflowing with vehicles and people like it never runs out of energy.
Sybil is feeling unwell but she tells Knapp that she will be fine by herself at the spaceship, so he leaves for the city. The spaceship is sitting on the empty field just a couple of miles away from the city. It is not too big for anybody to see that far.
He immediately begins his search for the warrior who reads minds the minute he steps into the large city, Tanoshi which can be translated to ‘fun’.
Not even ten minutes have passed when Knapp begins to realize that it is not going to be easy to find someone who has the ability to read minds. He must have walked past nearly hundred people by now. No one looks like the type with such an ability.
Knapp had already learned his lesson when he was trying to find Forgotten. He is not going to go up to someone and ask them if they can read his mind. It will only make him look creepy.
“Sorry,” a man in black zipped jacket with light purple edge lines mumbles after he bumps into Knapp’s shoulder. The black hood covers almost the entire head, only showing the bottom of his face.
Before Knapp can respond back, the man in the black jacket already disappears into the crowd. He raises an eyebrow and tilts his head a little bit to the side as he wonders what has made the guy so distracted enough to bump into him. But then, he also was distracted just now because he was trying to find the mind reader.
After a few hours of no luck of finding a mind reader, Knapp decides to return to the spaceship and tries again the next day.
And he still hasn’t found him or her one week later. Just like everyday he did, he wanders through the city. The sky stays dark and never turns any other color other than just dark, navy blue with some dark orangish spots.
He turns into a narrower street full of vendors at the booths. He decides to take a break from looking and checks out every booth until he finds one with herbs. He starts asking a elderly female seller a few questions about which herbs help with headaches or stomach aches.
After he is satisfied with the answers he got from the seller, he buys a bag of herbs from her and thanks her. As he turns around to be on the way back to the spaceship, the guy in the same black jacket with purple edges suddenly crashes into him after running fast. Knapp falls right onto his back with the stranger lying on the top.
“Ouch! Hey… are you ok?” Knapp asks worriedly. As if the stranger suddenly becomes aware of the position they are in, he quickly gets up and stumbles a little bit.
“W-whoa, be careful,” Knapp chuckles nervously and is about to get up on his own but the stranger suddenly grabs his hand and pulls him up fast. “W-what are you do--”
He gets pressed against the wall of a tall skyscraper next to an empty booth. The stranger quickly pulls down his hood, showing full wild brown hair with two black bangs in the front.
Knapp is staring into a pair of hazel eyes. He flinches as soon as he feels the stranger’s lips on his own. He has never known that a guy’s lips could be this soft. He remains frozen as the stranger moves his lips a little and tries to lick with his tongue as if he is asking for his permission.
The new Universe Warrior opens his mouth, trying to say something but instead, the stranger’s tongue gets into it. It’s exactly the same way as Knapp kisses Sybil. Except the brown-haired guy is taking his sweet time exploring and caressing against Knapp’s tongue with his own.
Knapp gives in. He wraps his arms around the stranger’s shoulders and pulls him into his embrace, deepening their kiss.
“Where the hell did he go?” A man in a standard police uniform with one blue and red flashing light sitting on the top of his hat.
“Maybe he went this way!” The second policeman shouts as they keep running past Knapp and the stranger, not even looking their way at all.
The stranger in black jacket breaks the kiss as he looks away with a flushed face. He gives a relieved sigh when he realizes that the policemen are not coming back for a while. As soon as he turns back, Knapp suddenly grabs his shoulders and then flips their positions. This time, the brown-haired guy is leaning against the wall. Knapp is standing way too close for his comfort as he places his hand on the wall next to the stranger’s head.
“Care to tell me your name?” Knapp asks almost darkly, his dark brown eyes fixated on the stranger’s hazel ones.
The stranger closes his eyes tightly as he shivers lightly at the hot look Knapp is giving him. “L-Logy.”
“Why were the police chasing you?”
Logy keeps his eyes closed but does not answer the question. Before Knapp tries again, Logy suddenly opens his hazel eyes and looks back up at the Universe Warrior. It is as if Logy is stunned by something. He is like an open book. Just a look of concentration furrows his brow. His lips are pouty.
“Are you…?” Knapp realizes what exactly Logy is trying to do. “Reading my mind?”
Logy jumps when Knapp’s lips start moving. He mumbles at first - something that Knapp cannot understand at all. He repeats, “I am deaf.”
“Oh…. Oh!” Knapp quickly steps back away, allowing some space for Logy. He scratches the back of his head out of embarrassment. “I’m sorry…”
Logy half-unzips his jacket, trying to cool himself down from their recent heated kiss. He is wearing black tank-top underneath. He glances at Knapp for nearly a minute and then frowns in confusion.
“What is it?” Knapp asks as if Logy somehow understands what he is saying. Then, he remembers that he has a tablet. “Ah, that’s right…” He quickly takes it out of his black messenger bag and starts tapping around with his forefinger on the tablet. “Let’s see…”
He turns his tablet around and shows Logy a sentence and a question on the screen. My name is Knapp. Were you trying to read my mind just now?
Suddenly, Logy quickly backs right up against the wall once again with a frightened look on his face.
Knapp looks worried as he turns the tablet back and reads what he wrote again. He does not understand how it can be offending. Can it be that the Fantasians write in a different language?
He tries again and writes on his tablet, I’m so sorry. I’m looking for a mind reader. Do you know someone like that?
Logy shakes his head as he relaxes his posture a little bit. Knapp sighs in a little frustration. It’s been a week, and he still has not found someone who has the ability to read others’ minds.
“Thanks anyway.” Knapp puts away his tablet. He turns around, but before he can make one step, he feels his own jacket getting tugged a little.
“I-I do,” Logy stutters at first, not letting go of Knapp’s jacket. “I have the power to peek into people’s heads.”
He is deaf but can talk pretty well? Knapp thinks to himself.
“But… for some reason, I can’t read your mind,” Logy continues. “That… That’s why I was taken back when you asked me if I could. I had never told anybody… not even my mother. I’m sorry… I was completely petrified when you were trying to speak to me.”
Knapp suddenly grabs Logy’s hand and says, “Come with me. Police may be coming back for you.”
~*~
They eventually end up at one of the local breweries. Knapp decides to get a beer while Logy asks for a glass of water.
Knapp turns around his tablet lying on the table and moves it across until it reaches Logy. Why was the police looking for you?
Logy looks back up at the other with a raised eyebrow. Knapp has one forefinger on his own lips as if he is shushing and then points at the tablet.
The deaf man takes his time to write down the words he carefully chooses. My mother has been ill for a long time… and money has always been an issue because she cannot work in her condition. I tried to earn money on my own, but nobody wanted to hire me simply because I am deaf. I know that because I read their thoughts. Even if they said that they found a better qualified candidate, I always knew it wasn’t true. So… when we were running out of money and my mom desperately needed medicine, I decided to steal.
Knapp softens his eyes as he reads what Logy wrote. He writes back. But now you don’t have to. Come and join me. I have a spaceship sitting a few miles away from the city. You can take your mother and come with me.
Logy blinks in surprise when he finishes reading. He shakes his head furiously and then gets up from the table. He mumbles, “T-thank you. I need time to think.”
“W-wait!” Knapp cries, forgetting that Logy cannot hear him and is no longer facing him as the deaf man walks out of the brewery in a hurry. He quickly places a few bills on the table and then leaves the tavern into yet another large crowd. He keeps turning his head until he spots Logy whose head is now covered with the black hood.
He keeps his distance from Logy, making sure he does not get spotted. He has been following him for twenty minutes until they reach an old apartment building, not too far away from the airport. It is no wonder he has been hearing roaring sounds from the sky for the past couple of miles.
He slows down a little bit when Logy uses a key to open the apartment entrance door. He runs fast while the door is still swinging to close. He catches it before it closes. He exhales in relief before following Logy inside the building.
Logy gets into the elevator, and Knapp waits patiently just a few feet away as he watches the light moving across the floor number above the elevator door. When it reaches the 7th floor, Knapp quickly takes the stairs instead of using the elevator.
As Knapp opens the stair door, he hears a loud ding. He quickly closes it and waits until Logy’s footsteps pass by and are about to fade away. He cracks the door open a little to see him turning around the corner. He quickly moves to the T-intersection of the hallway and takes a peek around the corner to find the deaf guy putting a key into the door’s keyhole.
After Logy enters his apartment, Knapp walks toward the front door as casually as possible and then stops in front of it. If people pass by, Knapp pretends to wait for someone to answer the door. He places his ear on the door, trying to hear something like at least a movement.
“Ah, you picked it up for me? Thank you, honey. I thought we didn’t have any money to get more medicine?”
“No, mom. I got the medicine for free,” Logy lies. “Please take it. I’ll bring water.”
Knapp begins to wonder how it is possible for Logy to understand his mother. Is it just how he was raised? Lip-reading? Or maybe his mother is using some kind of sign language and speaking at the same time?
He raises up his fist, about to knock. But he cannot bring himself to do so. What if Logy is not interested in joining him? He has a sick mother to take care of, so he does not have time for this. He is about to turn around and to be on the way back to the spaceship when the voice of Logy’s mother stops him.
“Oh, honey… You did steal them, didn’t you? How many times do I have to tell you? Sooner or later, they will come for you.”
“No. I kept my hood on all the time. They didn’t see my face, so we will be fine. Here is your water.”
“I am worried about you all the time. What happened to your last job?”
“Mom… They let me go six months ago, remember? Nobody else wants to hire me because I am deaf.”
The conversation between Logy and his mother almost makes Knapp forget that one of them is deaf. Logy somehow manages to speak quickly once it is his turn to talk. It’s almost natural.
Knapp snaps his head towards the hallway, away from the door. Ever since he became the Universe Warrior, he also has the ability to sense the presence of a person. When he got back to Earth, he was overwhelmed by the number of people but managed to tune them out after a couple of hours.
Three… no, four… actually, five people with similar presences are in the elevator. By the time the elevator reaches the seventh floor, Knapp is already standing in the hallway waiting until the elevator door opens. Five policemen are armed with their pistols and dressed in anti-bullet helmets and armors.
Why? Knapp frowns in confusion. Why are they armed? Logy is deaf and his mother is very sick… What can they do to them?
“Get down to the ground now!” One of the policemen loudly demands.
“What’s going on? Is there a dangerous person here?” Knapp asks, trying to pretend like he lives here in the apartment.
“Didn’t you hear on the news? There’s a man who stole medicine that is worth millions of dollars! We have been chasing him all day but then lost him. Then, we found out his name and his address… he lives in this apartment,” the second policeman says. “I suggest you leave this building… it may get ugly from here.”
“No. I’m not letting you get to him,” Knapp says firmly.
“Are you his accomplice?!” the third policeman asks loudly.
“No,” Knapp gives them a smirk. “Not yet. You shall remember me as the Universe Warrior… I serve the Fifth Universe. The guy who you’re looking for… I finally found him. I am not letting you take him away from me.”
“Fire!” The first policeman yells angrily as they all start firing their weapons at Knapp. “Don’t you dare to look down on us!”
By the time they stop firing, they are completely speechless. Knapp is still standing and pointing his palm at them, and it is glowing in the white light. But that is not what surprises them at all. It is the bullets that they fired… They are hovering in front of Knapp. Just a few seconds later, they suddenly drop to the floor.
Knapp swings the same hand that has been pointing at the policemen, creating a small shockwave which sends them back into the elevator. He bucks one of his knees a little bit, but does not collapse completely.
Shit! That took more power than I thought. Knapp quickly turns around and runs away while most of the policemen are still unconscious and two others are still slowly getting up, worried about possible back injuries.
He quickly kicks the front door open but Logy and his mother are not in the living room. He calls, “Logy! Where are you?!”
Dammit! I keep forgetting that he cannot hear me! Knapp starts running into different rooms furiously but he cannot find them in any of those rooms. He takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself and tries to sense their presence. As soon as he finds one, he follows it until he is standing in front of a closet in the master bedroom.
He opens the closet door only to get kicked in the face hard. He falls back on his bottom and grabs his throbbing chin. “Ow, that hurts!”
“Ack, Knapp! I’m so sorry! I thought you were the police!” Logy cries and kneels down. He gently pulls Knapp’s hand away, trying to analyze his injured jaw. “It’s hard when I can’t read your mind… actually I should’ve known that. You’re the only one who is blocking me from reading their mind.”
“No… No need to apologize,” Knapp chuckles softly. “We need to get out of here now. I see that pretty lady is behind you. She is coming with us too.”
The thin woman with straight, long brown hair locked up in two loose pigtails waves one of her hands nervously. She looks pale, but Knapp is not sure if her sickness causes the color of his skin. Logy looks a little more tanner than she is.
“Who is your boyfriend?” She asks softly both in voice and sign language but that only makes Logy even redder. She giggles briefly. From how she sounds, she may be sicker than Knapp thinks.
“H-he isn’t my boyfriend!” Logy protests. “Knapp, can you please help me carry her? She can’t walk. She… she has cancer that has spread to her spine and paralyzes the lower part of her body…”
Sensing the policemen’s presence approaching faster and closer, Knapp quickly takes Logy’s mother in his arms and easily gets up. “Let’s hurry! Let’s use the emergency exit!”
They use the window to get out onto the small metal balcony that is attached to the wall of the building. Knapp quickly adjusts how he holds Logy’s mother by putting her onto his back and holding her legs. They climb down the ladders as fast as they can until they reach the ground level.
~*~
“Mom? Mom!” Logy shouts and shakes his mother’s shoulders.
“Y-yes, dear?” She smiles tiredly as she slowly opens her hazel eyes. She tries to use sign language with her voice but it is getting sloppier every minute, “I am ok. You don’t have to be sad.”
They have managed to get out of the city and are taking a short rest right in front of the spaceship because Logy is worried when he sees his sleeping mother on Knapp’s back.
“I… I am so sorry,” Logy places his head on his mother’s chest. He feels gentle fingers running through his brown hair. “I shouldn’t have come home right away. I should have waited just a couple of hours more.”
“My son… you have a great heart. I’ve seen how much you cared,” His mother mumbles. At this point, she is no longer using sign language. “I’m grateful for everything you did for me… but you have to let me go.”
“No… No, I can’t…” Logy closes his hazel eyes tightly, trying not to let his tears come out. “You know I can’t do that!”
It takes a full minute for her to turn her head so she is looking at Knapp. “Your name is Knapp, isn’t it? When you came to save us, I was so relieved that Logy has someone who cares. I am all he has, so I was always worried that I would leave him alone if the cancer took me away. I’m so…” She begins to close her eyes as she finishes, “...glad that he has someone like you now.”
Logy keeps screaming and screaming, as he is still holding her lifeless body in his arms.
Knapp waits patiently until Logy’s sobs start to ease. He begins to pry his mother from Logy’s grip and carefully lays her on the ground. He wraps his arms around the deaf guy’s shoulders and pulls him in his warm embrace.
~*~
“This is Sybil,” Knapp says, making sure that he is facing Logy so that he can read his lips. “She is my girlfriend.”
“Sybil…” Logy repeats as he shyly glances at Knapp’s girlfriend. He cannot help but feel disappointed. Knapp never told him that he has a girlfriend, but then, Logy never asked, didn’t he?
“This is Logy.” Knapp grins at Sybil. “He will be joining us. He is deaf but he can read people’s minds. It’s perfect if we need someone to spy on our enemies!”
“Ah, really?” Sybil smiles brightly at Logy. “I am a seer. I receive visions from the future. Sometimes they are clear… sometimes they are vague. So, I try to interpret them for Knapp, so that we can minimize the damage as much as possible.”
“It’s nice to meet you.” Logy reaches out his hand for Sybil to shake. As soon as Sybil touches his hand, her smile goes away from her face in an instant. Logy raises an eyebrow in confusion.
“It’s… nice to meet you,” Sybil says almost awkwardly.
“Well, then! I’ll take Logy to his new room,” Knapp exclaims as he pats on Logy’s back.
As they are heading for the new room, they do not notice that Sybil is giving Logy a stabbing glare.
