Chapter 12 "Dark Angel"

Chapter 12
Dark Angel

Hikyou laughs loudly, confusing Katuo even more. He winks at him as he says, “You’re sure persistent! You’re even more like Myou than I thought you would be! The Earthlings are one of the most complicated people in the universe!”

Katuo frowns at Hikyou in confusion. What the hell is he talking about?

“But I keep forgetting that…” Hikyou crosses his arms. “Earthlings are also one of the most selfish people in the universe!”

Katuo stares at Hikyou-sama in disbelief.

“Very well.” Hikyou smirks widely at the new Dark God. “But before you get Siko back, you have to find Dark Angel first.”

“D…Dark Angel?” Katuo raises an eyebrow. “Isn’t it… similar to Dark God?”

“Nah!” Hikyou grins at him. “Dark Angel is one of my precious creations! He is to protect and obey all of the Gods above him! Let’s just say that he is like Siko’s and your guardian.”

“This sounds familiar…” Katuo rubs his chin in wonder. “But what does Dark Angel have to do with… my situation with Siko?”

“He is very sensitive to both of your feelings. If he senses that your emotions are not very good, he will know what to do right away. He will be able to help you to get Siko back!”

“Wait a minute.” Katuo frowns again. “Does that mean… you are not going to take back Myou’s soul?”

Hikyou laughs lightly. “I never said that I was going to take it back.”

“You sadistic bastard!” Katuo yells. “Gosh, do I have to put up with you from now on?”

“Get used to it.” Double God smiles at him. “Does that mean that you accepted yourself as Dark God?”

“Don’t get your hopes high.” Katuo scoffs. “I’ll think about it after my issue is resolved."

Ketsu sneezes loudly.

“God bless you!” One of the students in the front yells at Ketsu, who is in the back of the classroom.

“Thank you!” Ketsu smiles.

“Shush.” His professor snaps at Ketsu and the other student. Some of the sixty students are laughing, making the professor sigh in defeat.

After the lecture, Ketsu yawns loudly as he comes out of the classroom. “Finally! Done for the day!”

“Guardian angel, eh?”

Ketsu freezes at the familiar voice. He turns fast to one of his best friends. He stammers, “K-Katuo! What… How… Where…?”

“Private jet. What’d you expect from the son of Earth President?” Katuo rolls his eyes. “Hikyou-sama told me to find Dark Angel.”

“Are you trying to say that I’m Dark Angel?” Ketsu raises an eyebrow.

“Who else has been talking to Hikyou-sama for his entire life? You called yourself a guardian angel.” Katuo chuckles softly. “How could I overlook it? Of course, you were talking to Double God.”

Ketsu gulps nervously.

Katuo, out of rage, grabs Ketsu’s shirt and pulls him closer to his face. “Tell me, Ketsu… no, Dark Angel. What am I feeling right now?”

“Um…” Ketsu says nervously again, trying not to look at Katuo’s angry eyes. “A-anger. Overwhelmed… Denial… Possessive… Hurt…”

“You are Dark Angel!” Katuo yells. “Why the fuck didn’t you tell me a long time ago?!”

“S-sorry! Hikyou-sama ordered me to keep the secret from you and Siko! There was nothing I could do!”

“Come with me,” Katuo says angrily and drags Ketsu to the jet, which is standing in the middle of the campus. The students go ‘oooh’ and ‘awesome’ at the sight of the jet.

“What the hell?!” Ketsu yells. “You landed the jet on the campus?! You could have killed someone! Look! You broke the art structure too!”

After the jet takes off, Katuo glares at Ketsu angrily. “Dark Angel, tell me everything. Details about Hikyou-sama. Dark and Light Gods. Angels. Everything.”

“Wah, so scary!” Ketsu whimpers. “What do I do? Hikyou-sama, are you there?!”

“You have one hour to spill everything,” Katuo says angrily. “It’s only one way to get Siko back.”

“Wait, what do you mean? What happened?”

Katuo looks away from Ketsu. “He broke up with me.”

“Oh shit.” Ketsu groans. “I knew this would happen. Siko has always been confused with new stuff.”

“Ketsu. Tell me.”

Ketsu lightly bites his bottom lip. “But Hikyou-sama said –“

“I don’t give a fuck about what he ordered you to. I’m ordering you to tell me,” Katuo demands.

Either way, both Hikyou-sama and Katuo-sama will kill me. Ketsu sighs. “Long before this universe was created by Myou and Hikari… they fell in love with each other. This universe exists because of their love. It’s called the Fifth Universe.”

“We are in the Fifth Universe?” Katuo asks.

“Yes – oh, thank you.” Ketsu thanks a flight attendant for bringing him an iced tea drink. “So, anyway, after the Fifth Universe was created, Myou was always afraid that there would be someone who would kill him one day.”

“Why would someone want to kill Myou?”

“For the position of God,” Ketsu answers quickly. “It’s possible that there’s such a person who is willing to kill a god and to take over the universe. It did happen a few times in other universes.”

“A-amazing…” Katuo widens his dark green eyes. “But… Myou is dead, right?… and I have his soul…”

“Hikyou-sama was created by Myou and Hikari by merging parts of their souls together because they were worried about not only their God positions but also dying. They thought that Hikyou-sama would be strong enough to keep them alive.”

“What?! You can’t be serious!”

“Yes. Hikyou-sama has the powers of darkness and light,” Ketsu says. “That’s why he is much stronger than Dark and Light Gods.”

“So… then… Myou and Hikari…?”

“It was Hikyou-sama who took them out,” Ketsu says. “Myou and Hikari weren’t taking care of the Fifth Universe very well. All they cared about was their eternal lives. After Myou and Hikari died… the Fifth Universe got much better.”

“I see… because I have Myou’s soul, and Siko has Hikari’s soul…” Katuo shakes his head. “Because Myou and Hikari were in love, we are also in love?”

“Yes,” Ketsu says nervously.

“That’s why Siko broke up with me… the love feelings weren’t ours in the first place.” Katuo puts his hands on his head. “What if… we didn’t have the souls of Myou and Hikari, and we were still alive… then, what would happen to us?”

All of sudden, Ketsu grins widely. His eyes change to green once again. “Well, well. Trying to force the poor angel to tell you everything, eh?”

“H-Hikyou-sama?! What the hell?!” Katuo yells, recognizing Hikyou’s voice. “It was you all along?! You were Ketsu’s split personality!”

Hikyou, inside Ketsu’s body, laughs loudly. “Oh, Katuo. I specifically told you that Ketsu would help you with your feelings… but you did so much more than that. I think you confused him about who is in charge… didn’t you?”

“Charge? Are you saying that you are superior?”

“Yes, I’m the Double God.” Hikyou smirks darkly at Katuo. “Everyone must obey me.”

“You may be God.” Katuo narrows his eyes at him. “But it doesn’t mean that everyone has to obey you all the time.”

“You’re sadly mistaken.” Hikyou raises Ketsu’s hand.

Suddenly, an intense pain coming from the covered MYOU’s mark on Katuo’s forehead almost knocks him out right there. “W-what the fuck?!”

“You and Light God don’t have an equal power as I have,” Hikyou says in a serious voice, as he points Ketsu’s finger at him in a superior way. “I’ve lived for billions of years. Even though I selected you and Siko to be Dark and Light Gods, the Fifth Universe hasn’t accepted you yet.”

Katuo clenches his jaw in pain. “F-fine. You are the boss. I get it. Fuck.”

“Good!” Hikyou says cheerfully, releasing his godly power. “From now on, if Ketsu says that he gets orders from me, you can never change them. That’s my first rule for you.”

Katuo crosses his arms with a scowl on his face. “Whatever. Get the fuck out of Ketsu’s body.”

“Yes, he did.” Katuo takes off his headband, causing his black wings to appear on his back. He rubs his throbbing forehead. “Fuck. What did Hikyou-sama do to me?”

“I don’t know." Ketsu shrugs his shoulders. “He did the same thing to my… well, would you like to see my Dark Angel mark?”

Katuo raises an eyebrow. “You have the mark too?”

“Different kind of mark." Ketsu gets up from the chair. He begins to take off his wristbands. Like Katuo and Siko, he has dark blue wings appearing on his back.

“Oh?” Katuo takes a closer look at Ketsu’s wrist. The design of the mark is a small sword with devil-like wings at either side of its handle. “It’s different from mine and Siko’s.”

“Unlike you, I’m the Angel. My mark is the symbol of bravery and shield. I’ll always take damage for the Gods and the rest of the Fifth Universe.” Ketsu smirks with so much pride. “I didn’t understand it… before your sixteenth birthday… back then I didn’t understand why my father was always traveling and always risking his life for the Fifth Universe.”

Katuo sighs in exhaustion. “Ketsu, enough. This is too much for me.”

“Sorry…” Ketsu puts the wristbands back on to cover his mark, causing the wings to disappear. “Still want me to help you get back together with Siko?”

“I don’t know.” Katuo groans in frustration. “How am I supposed to know if this feeling… is not mine? What if it is Myou’s love, not mine?”

“You will know the answer when you see Siko again,” Ketsu smiles at him. “I saw how much you hated me when you found us kissing.”

“Don’t ever remind me of that.” Katuo almost growls at him.

“You couldn’t help it, right? Forget all about Myou and Hikari. All you need is to focus on yourself and to be happy. That’s exactly what Hikyou-sama wants,” Ketsu says. “Go and see Siko before he does something stupid. Like moving to Japan with Uncle Ryu.”

The new Dark God scoffs at him. “Like that would happen.”

“I want to move to Japan with you, dad,” Siko says firmly. He is standing in his father’s office.

Gus mews and purrs, as he is trying to get comfortable in Siko’s warm embrace. Almost immediately, he falls asleep.

Ryu stares at him almost stunned. “Why? You grew here for the rest of your life, didn’t you. You don’t even know the Japanese language!”

“I will learn it!” Siko exclaims. “I… I just… everything reminds me of… Katuo. I can’t stop thinking about him… I want to forget everything.”

“Oh, Siko.” Ryu gets up from his table. “It’s so… sudden. If that’s what you want, then we can move there. It will make it much easier for me to work there anyway.”

“Really?!” Siko exclaims in excitement. “I’ll pack right away!”

Ryu smiles, watching his son running out of his office. Oh, Hikyou-sama. What have you done to Siko by making him sad like this?

“Gus, we’re going to Japan!” Siko exclaims and hugs Gus tightly, who, in return, whimpers in pain. “I can’t wait!”

When he gets into the room, he looks around at his furniture. “But…”

Gus mews questioningly.

“Won’t I miss Katuo?” Siko asks and pets on Gus’s head. “I’m already missing him. So much…”

“Siko!!”

“Oh no.” Siko groans. “I’m even starting to hear Katuo’s voice in my head… hey, wait a minute!”

He spots something dark outside his window. He walks over there and almost shrieks like a girl. “What the heck?!”

There is a jet plane hovering next to Siko’s bedroom. He almost faints at sight of it, but he does not allow himself to.

“Siko!” Ketsu exclaims. “Come here!”

“Ketsu?! Where are we go –“ Siko’s window is broken by the heavy ladder made of ropes his cousin throws.

“Hurry! Before Uncle Ryu comes to your bedroom!” Ketsu yells.

Despite all the madness going on in his bedroom, Siko grabs the ladder quickly. Before he knows it, he is inside the Kejinto’s private jet.

“Wait a minute!” Siko yells, with Gus trembling in fear in his embrace. “Why am I on the Kejinto’s private jet?!”

“Katuo wants to talk to you,” Ketsu says, his head jerking toward Katuo who is sitting on the chair.

Siko rolls his eyes. “Didn’t I tell him that I don’t want to see him again?”

“You know this better.” Katuo narrows his eyes dangerously at Siko. “Once I want something, I get it. I’m keeping you.”

“What? Now, I’m your property?!” Siko says angrily. “What the hell are you thinking?!”

“Siko, please listen to me.” Katuo sighs. “You didn’t give me any chance to explain to you about how I feel. After you broke up with me… I went to see Hikyou-sama right away. He wouldn’t give me the answer that I wanted, so he sent me to Dark Angel…”

“Dark Angel?” Siko widens his eyes in surprise and glances at his cousin. “Then…?!”

“You guessed right. I’m the Dark Angel.” Ketsu smiles at him.

“He told me everything. I understood why you didn’t want to be with me,” Katuo says. “I would have said the same thing if it wasn’t for Dark Angel. Our love feelings… are not ours. They came from our descendants, Myou and Hikari.”

“You accepted it, then?” Siko asks.

“No, I never accepted it. I consider my feelings as mine. Who gives a fuck about Myou and Hikari?” Katuo scoffs. “If I like you, I like you. If I love you, then I love you.”

Siko shakes his head. “No, you’re wrong. You are acting on the behalf of Myou. Didn’t Hikyou-sama say that you are more like Myou than any other previous Dark God?”

“So? Hikyou-sama lived for billions of years. It isn’t surprising that he knew Myou and Hikari.”

“I don’t understand what you are trying to say.” Siko frowns in confusion.

Katuo gets up from the chair and walks closer to Siko. “I love you, Siko Mitsukai. That’s all I wanted to say to you. I don’t care about anything else. I only care about us. Our happiness.”

“So, you almost destroyed my bedroom in order to get me back?” Siko raises an eyebrow.

“Yes.” Katuo smirks before he places a kiss on Siko’s lips.

“Bastard. I love you too.” Siko returns the kiss, wrapping his arms around Katuo’s shoulders.

Finally!

Katuo and Siko jump at Hikyou-sama’s loud voice. They make quick glances everywhere, trying to find him.

“He’s talking to us in our heads. It’s like transmitting.” Ketsu giggles at their reaction.

Now that you are back together, I can finally talk to you! That means I don’t have to possess anyone’s body! Whoo hoo!

Siko chuckles nervously, scratching his face cheek. “Well, I’m still not used to Hikyou-sama…”

“He’s annoying.” Katuo rolls his eyes. “How the hell did you put up with him for years, Ketsu?”

Ketsu laughs at Katuo’s question.
