Chapter 14 "Two Years"

Chapter 14
Two Years

“Ketsu, you have been training for many years. Can you please sit and watch us? It’s their first time, eh?” Hikyou smirks widely at the new Gods.

“Yes, Hikyou-sama.” Ketsu bows his head shortly and then sits on his chair.

“What’s our first lesson?” Katuo cracks his knuckles, more than eager for training. “Learn how to use our godly powers?”

“No. You can’t use your powers yet,” Hikyou snickers at the disappointed looks on the Gods’ faces. “In fact, you don’t know how to use any energy anyway.”

“Energy?” the new Light God blinks in confusion.

“Your father mentioned that you saw your sister’s strength, Katuo. What she used was called lion energy or the power of lion. You’re lucky you dodged it… or else it would hurt like hell,” Hikyou laughs at Katuo, who scowls in return. “You can’t learn any energy until you learn how to control your dark and light energies.”

“Dark and light?” Katuo is curious. They haven’t even started training, and they are already learning new stuff.

“They are the ones of the most difficult energies to control. If you are able to master them, then you will be able to master all of the different kinds of energy. But first…” Hikyou stretches out one of his arms. “Attack me. If you can hit me once, then I’ll teach you to master dark and light energies.”

“Hit you? Too easy!” Katuo smirks arrogantly. “My father has been teaching me martial arts!”

“Well, then… Come!” Hikyou grins evilly.

“Ready or not… here I come!” Katuo yells before he runs toward Hikyou who yawns loudly. He throws as many fists and kicks as possible.

Hikyou dodges all of them. He literally dances around, evading every single attack.

"Whoa," Siko says in amazement.

After twenty minutes of many attempts of hitting and kicking, Katuo is already out of breath.

"What? Quitting already?" Hikyou asks amusedly.

"No way!" Katuo yells out of frustration. He runs fast to his opponent, throwing another fist. It has been blocked by Hikyou’s hand.

"Eh?!" the Dark God tries to pull his fist away, but Hikyou holds it firmly. Even with his full speed and strength, Katuo can't even hit him at all. He is supposed to be Dark God, isn't he? He is supposed to have some kind of amazing powers... Right?

Yet Hikyou is playing around as if this fight is a game.

"Whistleblow Wind," Hikyou says calmly. He blows very softly at Katuo's face.

It is not soft at all. Rather, it feels like a bullet that literally goes through Katuo's head.

"Katuo!" Siko cries out of concern when he can clearly see a wounded hole on Katuo's forehead.

"Fuck! It fucking hurts as fuck!" Katuo yells angrily, as he easily gets up from the floor.

"If you were fighting someone that was at the equal power level as a god, then this attack power that you got hit by was only at 5%." Hikyou smirks at Katuo.

"Five... Five percent?!" Siko gasps at the thoughts of possible future opponents and enemies.

“That’s right -- Five percent. This is the power of a God.” Hikyou grins widely at the new Gods. “Ideally, you're as good as dead, Katuo. Okay, Siko, it’s your turn!”

“M-me?” Siko says nervously. He would rather watch than fight. “U-um, I don’t think I’m ready...”

“No god is ever ready.” Hikyou laughs lightheartedly, ignoring Katuo who is grumbling at his loss. “Come on, Siko! Show me what you’ve got!”

“O-okay.” Siko gives Double God a small smile. “I’ll try...”

He is so cute! Ketsu giggles at Siko’s nervousness.

“Ready?” Hikyou asks cheerfully.

“Yeah.” Siko gets in an awkward fighting pose. “I am -- ACK!”

He barely dodges Hikyou's water shot by ducking down quickly with his hands over his head. “Wah! You could have killed me!”

Hikyou laughs so hard that he almost cries. “You’re quite funny, Siko! Your father must have protected you for all these years, didn’t he? Now, it’s time for you to open your eyes and keep your guard up all the time!”

Just as Siko blinks, Hikyou somehow gets behind him and kicks him in the back. The new Light God cries in pain, as he falls to the hard floor.

“Didn’t I tell you to open your eyes and to keep your guard up?” Hikyou laughs lightheartedly again. “Your daddy is not here to protect you this time!”

“Shit!” Siko curses, his fists clenching angrily on the floor. Katuo isn’t afraid to face him! Why can’t I be like him?!

“Just laying there is not helping you at all. The enemy will strike you down as soon as you are down,” Hikyou says. “But I’ll give you one more chance to get up!”

“Siko, just fight back!” Katuo yells. “Didn’t your father train you?! I’ve seen you fight before, so don’t be scared!”

Siko gets up from the floor, as he is trying to remember his training sessions with Ryu. His father was one of the world’s strongest soldiers during the Nuclear War, so he wanted to make sure that Siko could defend himself from any enemy.

But Siko and Katuo have always been surrounded by powerful people while they were growing up, so they have never been attacked. The people they love always protected them and fought back the possible attackers. And, that was Ryu the General of the First Division, Tezuka the President of Earth, Knapp the Universe Warrior, and Ketsu the Dark Angel.

All because they had known that Katuo and Siko were the Gods ever since they were just babies.

If Siko is now Light God, then isn’t he supposed to protect the people he loves, not the other way around?

“Siko, I’m waiting.” Hikyou raises an eyebrow in wonder. “Or maybe you’re giving up? Well then...”

Each of his hands begins to leak out both black and white aura. “The darkness and light can’t live without each other. If the balance of the darkness and light is out of control, the universe can be put at the risk of being completely annihilated. After all... the Fifth Universe is made of darkness and light.”

“Everything is made out of darkness and light?” Katuo blinks in surprise. He recalls studying astronomy, but it was completely different from what Hikyou told them. This universe was supposed to be made of dark matter... right? It all started with the Big Bang --

Wait a minute. Now, it makes sense. Katuo realizes that the particles were made out of the darkness and light... and when they collided, the Big Bang started... With both darkness and light, the new universe was created.

As soon as Siko starts running toward Hikyou, Double God quickly kneels down on the floor. Hikyou places his hand with the dark energy on the floor, spreading it all over it and extending it towards Siko.

I can dodge this! Siko thinks to himself, as he watches the dark energy heading for him. He is about to dodge when Hikyou’s dark attack splits up into six. Luckily for him, he quickly jumps high in the air to avoid six pieces of dark energy. He is falling fast toward Double God. “I’ve got you!!”

“Air Shockwave.” Hikyou grins widely and crosses his arms, as he releases a powerful shockwave from his own body.

Siko cries in pain when he gets impacted by the strong shockwave. He falls onto the floor right in front of Hikyou.

“Siko!” Katuo cries, as he rushes into the battlefield for his boyfriend.

“Now, it’s over.” Hikyou smirks, as he places his hand with light energy on Siko’s head.

Siko shuts his eyes tightly, thinking that he may get hurt so badly. Instead, he is feeling that he is being recovered. “Eh?”

“Light energy is your best friend, Siko. One day, you will probably be fighting a Savior, who also uses dark and light energies. Light energy cannot hurt you at all, and it will only be absorbed by you no matter what. It's also the same way with Katuo and dark energy.”

Katuo helps Siko to get up from the floor. “That’s not fair! You have billions of years of fighting experience!”

“So do you. In fact, you are supposed to have much more fighting experience than mine.” Hikyou smirks at Katuo and Siko widely. “You are the reincarnations of the former Gods. Katuo, you said that you dreamed about Myou, didn’t you? That’s your proof.”

Katuo widens his eyes in realization when he realizes that Double God is right. He saw Myou in his dream.

“Ketsu can fight better than you do... he doesn’t even have any memory of the previous Dark Angel,” Hikyou says. “Well, that concludes your training session. I’ll call you back here tomorrow.”

“Hey, you bastard!” Katuo yells angrily. “We have fighting experience from the former Gods? That’s fucking bullshit!”

“Is that so?” Hikyou laughs again. “Siko, can you name one of the past Light Gods?”

“Just try!”

“Okay...” Light God says nervously, closing his eyes. He keeps trying and trying to remember at least one thing about the former Light Gods.

“Suro...” Siko almost mumbles. “I remember calling someone Suro.”

“Amazing...!” Ketsu almost gasps.

“Suro sounds familiar,” Katuo glances at Hikyou, waiting for the answer.

“Suro used to be one of the Dark Gods,” Hikyou grins at Siko. “Wow! You’re regaining the memory of the past at such a rapid rate! So, this is the amazing brain of the Earthlings, eh? Now, Katuo, how about you?”

“Our child’s soul is beautiful...” Katuo says softly.

“CHILD?!” The Mitsukai cousins both yell, Siko being much more angry.

“Ah, you remembered something that one of the Dark Gods said! Who was it?”

Katuo thinks deeply. “Don’t rush me. I’m trying to remember. It’s... Gina?”

“Actually, Gina was one of the Light Goddesses.” Hikyou flashes a big grin at the new Gods and Angel.

“I was... fighting someone...” Katuo starts rubbing his forehead, trying hard to remember. “It was... Gina. I fought against Light Goddess?”

“It was not you. It was the former Dark God.” Hikyou sighs sadly, recalling the tragedy. “It didn’t go very well at all.”

“Myou...” Siko glances nervously at Katuo. “Ouji, Suro, Jack, and... Keiran.”

“Awesome! That’s in the order of the former Dark Gods!” Ketsu exclaims excitedly.

“Well?” Hikyou smirks at Katuo.

“Hikari, Hima, Rai, Gina, and Jalen,” Katuo says softly. “So, that means we are the sixth Gods, Hikyou?”

“Exactly correct,” Hikyou says calmly. “They all died. If it weren’t for me, the Fifth Universe would have been destroyed when the first Gods died.”

“I see,” Siko says softly. “Myou and Hikari weren’t so bad after all...”

“Either way, I won’t forgive them for harming the Fifth Universe. Too many galaxies were lost because of them.”

“How many galaxies do we have?” Katuo asks.

“Only ten.”

“Ten?!” Siko cries. “But, don’t we have hundreds --”

“The astronomists may be looking at the different universes. There are four more universes other than this. They are pretty close to each other,” Hikyou says. “Our universe is called the Fifth Universe. There used to be billions of universes, but they were destroyed by the Great One a long time ago... except five.”

“That’s terrible,” Siko says.

“Well, it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s all in the past.” Hikyou grins at them. “What matters to me the most is to make sure that the Fifth Universe is safe. Kira is one of the biggest threats to this universe, so I need to make sure that I train you so well. You have two years left to go before you leave your home planet.”

“Wait, we will be leaving Earth?” Katuo asks.

“That was what your fathers promised me. As long as I keep you alive, you have to go,” Hikyou says. “Unless you have the death wish, resulting in Kira destroying the universe.”

“Fine, fine,” Katuo snaps at him. He is too upset that his fate has been decided by his father... once again!

Siko is pouting at the thought of leaving Earth in two years. At this point, he is not even sure if he wants this. Yeah, he would love to protect the universe, but will he be strong enough to do that?

Hikyou laughs out loud once again. “You’re having second thoughts, aren’t you? That was how the former Gods were when they found out that they had to be the ones who protect the Fifth Universe. Don’t worry -- I’ll give you time to think. Until then, you’ll need to come back everyday for the training sessions.”

“Very well.” Katuo sighs lightly. “We have two years until then, eh?”

“If you ever change your mind, then don’t bother coming back.” Hikyou smiles sadly at them. “But please think about the possible consequences.”

The Fifth Universe will be destroyed if you refuse to fight Kira.

“Yeah,” Siko says softly. “We’ll think about it.”

“Okay, then. See you tomorrow!” Hikyou says cheerfully, watching as the Gods and Angel disappear into the air, returning to the real world.
