Blackmail

“Stop laughing!” Katuo yells in embarrassment. 

Tezuka beams widely at his son. “I already love you, so there’s no need for you to be embarrass--”

“It was an accident!” Katuo yells in embarrassment.

“Fine, fine.” Tezuka shrugs his shoulders. “If you want to call it ‘accident,’ that’s fine with me too.”

Katuo clenches his fist in anger. Stupid fucking idiot! Why do I have to be the son of the world’s stupidest president?

He runs out of his room, even though he is not supposed to run with his injured ribs. Fuck his father. Fuck everything. Fuck the world!

When he arrives at the kitchen, he takes his time to lessen the pain in his chest and stomach. He places his hands on the counter, clenching the edges a little.

“Kaaaaaat!”

Katuo flinches at his younger sister’s loud voice. If she calls him like that, then something’s up. “What do you want, Perra?”

Perra has the biggest grin ever on her face. “Weeeeell, I’m wondering if you can take me to the Kitty’s Ice Cream? I’m in the mood for ice cream!”

“Why should I?” Katuo clenches the edges of the counter even tighter.

“Ta-dah!” Perra reveals her smartphone that she has been hiding behind her back for the whole time she has been talking to her brother. “I got the picture of daddy laughing at you!”

“Whaaaat?!” Katuo yells, jumping toward his sister trying to get her smartphone. But, his sister dodges by slipping under the table. “Come back, you stupid brat!”

“Fiiiine! Then, I’ll post it on all social media platforms and show it to the entire world! After all, you are the son of the President.” Perra snickers evilly. Sure, Katuo is the most popular teenager in the world, but he is not the only one – his ten-year-old sister is also the most popular child in the world with more than 10 million followers – the one whom the children look up to.

“No, no! Don’t post it! I’m taking you to get your ice cream! Ok?” Katuo starts off quickly and loudly, and then at the end, his voice becomes softer. “I’m buying it for you if you are not going to post it.”

“Deal!” Perra says cheerfully.

Katuo is stressed at this moment. He is not supposed to leave the house with his rib injury. Well, Perra has no idea that he has an injury, but he hates the idea of people pitying him anyway so he has not told his sister yet.

He is leaning his back against a lamp pole. He tries his best to hide his face from the media by wearing his favorite black hat and sunglasses.

“Look, brother! I bought it for you!” Perra, also wearing a pink hat and sunglasses, runs to Katuo and places two fake bunny ears on his hat. “Aw, you look so cute!”

Katuo gives her a death glare. “Look, you –“

“Lala, daddy was laughing at you –“ Katuo quickly puts his hand on his loud sister’s mouth. A nearby couple just looks at them in confusion before they walk away in hurry.

“Fine, geez! I’ll just wear them for a day!” Katuo says before he lets his sister go. “Just don’t make a scene like that again.”

Perra smirks darkly at him. “Kat, can I have an ice cream… please?” She receives a growl from her older brother. “Ok, thanks! There’s also a toy store that I want to check!”

I’m SO going to have revenge someday. Katuo scowls after his sister runs off to another small shop. He starts walking around, trying to find a cart that carries ice cream. The tourists are staring at him because of the bunny ears. Some ladies are giggling at him and are saying something about bunny ears being sexy.

Finally, he finds the ice cream cart with three people in the line. He joins the line and waits for a while.

“Vanilla, please.”

Katuo raises an eyebrow at a very familiar voice. He realizes that a tall, black-haired man in the front is no more than Siko’s cousin.

“Thank you!” Shit, it’s Ketsu.

Blushing furiously, Katuo tries to hide his own face with his hat. What the hell is he doing here? Damn.

Ketsu turns around and accidentally bumps into Katuo, spilling his ice cream on his dark purple shirt. “Ack! I’m sorr – Katuo?” He whispers lightly, so that people cannot hear him at all.

“Tell anyone and you’re dead.” Katuo snaps at him. “It’s bad enough that I have to spend time with my brat sister.”

“Perra? What did she blackmail you this time?” Ketsu grins.

“Never mind.” Katuo looks away from him. “Just get out of my way. I just want to buy damn ice cream for my sister.”

“Is it about Siko?”

“No! It’s… this thing that I have to worry about.” Katuo shakes his head. He wipes the ice cream off his shirt with his hand. “It’s more important than Siko.”

Ketsu frowns. “More important than Siko? But why?”

“Didn’t I tell you to get out of my way?” Katuo pushes Ketsu aside so he is standing in front of the ice cream salesman. “Chocolate, please.”

“Katuo…” Ketsu says seriously. “If you refuse to admit your true feelings soon, then someone else will get Siko first.”

Katuo scoffs at him. “Oh really? Who would want someone so emotional and shy like Siko?”

When he does not get an answer from Ketsu, he turns to buy ice cream. “Well, I have to go –“

“Me,” Ketsu finally answers.

Katuo stops and turns to him in confusion. “What?”

“You heard me. I will take Siko away from you.” Ketsu’s dark eyes turn cold suddenly. “I know that I can make him happy when you have never been able to.”

Katuo stares at him in disbelief. How can one of his own best friends say that to him?

Ketsu smirks at the youngest male Kejinto. “This time, we are not just friends but also rivals.”

Fuck! Katuo wants to scream so badly after Ketsu leaves his sight. He was already in bad mood and then, that fucking bastard made it worse.

“Broooootheeerrrr!” Perra sings happily, skipping toward her brother. “Did you get my ice cream?”

“Yes, I did!” Katuo snaps at her and hands the melting ice cream to her. “There. Are you satisfied? Ready to go home?”

Perra frowns when she realizes how mad her brother must be. “Katuo… why are you mad?”

“Mad?!” Katuo’s temper suddenly blows up. “Oh no. I’m not fucking mad!”

“You are a meanie!” Perra sobs loudly and throws her ice cream at Katuo. “I want to go home now!”

“Whatever. Go home by yourself. I don’t give a fuck.” Katuo, once again, wipes the ice cream off his shirt.

“Jerk!” Perra screams as she clenches one of her fists before she throws it at the sidewalk.

Katuo, for some odd reason, senses something very strange and… it is not normal at all. It is the first time he has ever felt like this. “Wha –“

As soon as Perra’s fist lands on the sidewalk, there goes a loud BOOM. In mere seconds later, a large crater has been created by Perra’s powerful punch.

Katuo is lying near the crater. He stares at it in disbelief, trembling in shock. This is the scariest thing he has ever seen. Many questions are running through his mind now, but he can only stammer, “W-what i-is th-this?”

Perra collapses to the floor, as if all of her energy is gone. But how?

Katuo stares at her in shock. Wha… What was that strange feeling…? He shakes his head, panicked. She… She could’ve killed me!

“Ketsu? What are you doing here?” Siko blinks in surprise. He recently got home from school only to find his older cousin waiting at the door for him.

“We need to talk.”

Siko looks at him nervously. He has never seen his older cousin so serious before. “Um, ok.”

When they enter Siko’s house, the younger cousin realizes that his father is not home yet. “Odd. Father is not home.”

Ketsu shrugs his shoulders to let him know that he only knows no more than the younger cousin knows.

“I’ll be right back. I need to feed Gus,” Siko says cheerfully and leaves for his bedroom where his new baby dragon rests.

“Eh, Gus?” Ketsu raises an eyebrow in confusion until Siko comes out with the dragon in his arms. “Oh?”

“His leg was broken when we found him. Katuo saved his life, but he wouldn’t keep him… so I decided to take him with me!”

Gus chirps happily and jumps out of Siko’s embrace. His tiny wings open up and carry himself over to Ketsu. He lands on his shoulder and purrs happily.

“Aw, he’s adorable!” Ketsu pets Gus, who mews in return.

“So, what do you want to talk about?” Siko asks.

“It… It’s about us.” Ketsu frowns when he realizes what he is here for.

“W-what?”

“I…” Ketsu grabs Gus and puts him down on the floor. “I like you.” He blushes lightly.

Siko blinks at him. Oh. Is that it? He smiles brightly at him. “Of course, I like you too!”

“No, that’s not what I mean… err…” Ketsu starts playing with his own fingers. This only happens when he is embarrassed or nervous. “I like you more than just friends…”

Siko widens his eyes in shock when he realizes what exactly Ketsu means in his words. “Ketsu…”

“If you don’t like me in the same way, then I won’t do anything to make you feel uncomfortable.”

“You mean… you love me…?” Siko asks.

Ryu is shaking his head furiously. “No! No, no, no, no! No way! This is too early for them!”

“But why aren’t you opposing Him if you don’t want them to fall in love yet?” Tezuka asks.

“What? Are you crazy?! He can kill us without even touching us!” Ryu cries. “Tezuka, I have been regretting the moment when I accepted His offer!”

“We had no choice at that time.” Tezuka frowns at him, as he runs his hand through his lavender hair. “Otherwise, I would never have accepted it.”

“So, then we pretend to help Planet Fantasy just to make it look believable for them?” Ryu sighs.

“Yes, I’m sending you to Planet Fantasy for two weeks. After all, He doesn’t want you to interrupt their love progress,” Tezuka smirks at him. “That’s who you are. You’re always so overprotective for people you love. You would do anything to stop Siko from getting hurt, but he will. You just can’t help it anyway.”

Ryu cannot help but worry about his precious son.
